Lithgow City Council has encouraged the community to nominate to nominate candidates for the 2019 LJ Hooker Reg Cowden Memorial Sports Star of the Year Awards.

The awards recognise exceptional sporting achievements of members of the Lithgow Community throughout 2019 and are a legacy for Reg Cowden and his length dedication to sport in the Lithgow region.
Council is also seeking local sporting organisations to nominate suitable candidates for the Bunny Abbott Volunteer of the Year and the Laurie Muir Official of the Year awards, to recognise volunteers and officials who contribute greatly to the success of local sporting competitions.

Nominations are also open for the International Sports Star of the Year which is awarded to the best international achievements during 2019 from a local sporting person.

Nominations close at 4.30pm on Friday, January 31.
