Police say at about 1.40pm yesterday (Saturday 21 December), emergency services were called when an 18-year-old man failed to resurface after entering the water.
And despite attempts by onlookers, he was unable to be located.
Also making news:
Officers from Hawkesbury Police Area Command attended and commenced a search for the man, assisted by Marine Area Command and the State Emergency Service (SES), who provided vessels.
At about 5.05pm on Saturday 21 December, police divers located the man's body on the riverbed near where he was last seen.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
