Jonathan Reid top-scored for Lithgow Valley, which went into bat first, on 67. He built on the work of early batsmen Lou Kappos (33) and Graeme Bell (28).
La Salle's bowling attack was keeping the batsmen on their toes, with three wicket hauls going to Peter Morris and Kallum Jenkins. Mitchell Wallace finished with two wickets off just two runs.
The Valley team finished on 218.
La Salle's batting line-up mirrored Lithgow Valley, with some good early scores to Eli Morris (35), Peter Morris (26), Blake Goldspi nk (20).
David Spillane, further down the order, hit his straps to add on 60.
But a team bowling attack slowed the La Salle innings.
Matt Williams, Michael Inzitari, Riley Bell all took two wickets, with Murray Staines and Jonathan Reid each taking one.
La Salle finished on 8/210 in their 40 overs, just falling short of the required total for the win.
Housos Cougars v Hampton
A solid team batting effort secured a win for Housos Cougars on Saturday, December 7.
Shannon Clarke top-scored for Housos on 56, who opened the batting, following up on the work by openers Brent Pattison (39) and Jason Stewart (38).
James Leslie was the best performing of Hampton's bowlers with 3-36, with wickets going to Mick Byrne (2), Matt Tuxford and Malik Khowaja.
The Cougars team finished their innings on 8/210 after 36 overs.
In reply, Rob Arnott was the pick of the Hampton batsmen, taking out a match-high score of 61. Jared Duff was also in good form, picking up 38 runs.
Bowlers Luke Bradford (3-32), Jason Murray (2) and Dave Robson (2) were in good touch, demolishing the Hampton line-up to limit their final score to 168.
