Chifley-Lithgow Rural Fire Service stated the fire continues to burn steadily around the Glen Davis, Glen Alice, Newnes and Wolgan Valley areas.
"Solid containment lines are in place around the western division of the fire," a spokesperson said.
"Crews have been monitoring the area closely with the assistance of aircraft."
The fire will continue to burn until it reaches the containment lines, at which point crews will work to extinguish it.
The enormous fire, which stretches from the Hawkesbury to the east to Glen Davis in the west, has now burned an area larger than 191,000 hectares.
Wolgan Valley Road remains closed to all but local traffic. Lithgow City Council states it will be reviewing the closure at the end of the week.
A fire which was suspected to have been sparked on Mount Walker Road, Bowenfels, on Tuesday afternoon, November 26, was quickly brought under control by crews after burning two hectares. It is still being monitored daily.
A fire which began at Dark Corner on Tuesday has also been controlled.
The winds and storms which brought the lightning to the region on Tuesday brought with it a huge dust storm, which triggered an air quality warning.
