Kicking off on Sunday, December 1 there is an official 'Lighting of the Tree' at Mick Moore Park in Wolgan Street at 7.30pm, with entertainment to be provided by St Joseph's and Portland Central School.
"This is the third year we have done the event and we have seen it grow each year, it brings the community together to celebrate Christmas and has such a good atmosphere," Portland Business Association president Andrew Neville said.
Then residents can gather in Saville Park for Carols by Candlelight, kicking off at 6pm on Saturday, December 7. Kids can get entertained by family activities early on in the night. The carols will then begin at 7pm with locals including Casey McFarlane singing all the popular Christmas songs.
The following week, there will be a family fun day at Mick Moore park from 10am until 12pm on Saturday, December 14.
The day will include Santa photos, a picnic lunch, a Christmas crafts table, and a table for children to write their very own letter to Santa.

The month long festivities will conclude on Friday, December 20 with a street festival. The festival will take place from 6-9pm and see live entertainment, chocolate wheels, kids activities and more along Williwa Street.
"We have Santa appearing at all events, four weeks in a row, we had a special phone line set up to get him down here each week before Christmas," Mr Neville said.
"Despite having inclement weather last year with a mini cyclone, which we don't want to happen again, we will still go ahead if it rains."
