With the first day of Summer around the corner Portland pool is set to open its doors on Saturday, November 30 (weather permitting).
During the off season the pool underwent much needed upgrades thanks to the State Government's Stronger Country Communities fund.
The fencing has been replaced along the touch field side, updates starting blocks have been installed and the little 'kiddies' pool has been resurfaced for the first time in 60 years. The main pool pump has also been replaced.
The water is nearly clean and ready to go and despite the water temperature being quite low, the warmer weather forecast for the week should see it rise.
Pool operators hoped to see patrons and families enjoying the upgraded facility this Summer.
