Emergency services were called to Lowes Mount Road in Tarana at 4.40am.
The driver of the car sustained a severe injury to his right leg and was stabilised by paramedics for the helicopter flight.
Tarana Volunteer Bushfire Brigade crews Tarana 9 and Tarana 7A also responded and were on site to assist with the clean up of glass and oil.
Dog attack
Police have asked anyone with information about a dog attack on sheep at a Cullen Bullen Road property to report it.
It was reported that a blue cattle cross shepherd with a red collar, and a grey and white bull Arab attacked sheep on a Cullen Bullen Road property near Portland on Friday, November 22 around 10.15am.
Anyone with information on the stray dogs is to contact Portland or Lithgow Police Station or Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.
Drink driving charge
A 39 year-old New Zealand man was charged with a mid-range PCA and had his licence suspended after he returned a positive random breath test on Mort Street, Lithgow at 10.20pm on Friday, November 22.
The man allegedly returned a reading of 0.142 and is to appear before Lithgow Local Court at a later date.
Prohibited substance
A 39 year-old woman was allegedly detected at Lithgow Correctional Centre introducing a prohibited substance to an inmate on Sunday, November 24 at 2pm.
Police are currently investigating and awaiting an analysis of the substance.
