We Will Rock You
Lithgow, November 17-30
The Lithgow Musical Society will stage its production of 'We Will Rock You' continues at St Patrick's Primary School. Tickets available at the door. It will be held at Friday, November 22 at 7.30pm, Saturday, November 23 at 7.30pm, Sunday, November 24 at 2pm, Friday, November 29 at 7.30pm and Saturday, November 30 at 7.30pm.
Film society
Lithgow, November 22, 24
The Lithgow Valley Film Society is screening a classic movie from the golden age of Hollywood this week titled 'Remember the Night' (PG, 1940). The film will screen on Friday at 10.30am and Sunday at 2pm at the Main Street cinema.
Long Arvo

Skate parks opening
Wallerawang and Portland, November 23
Families are invited to the opening of Portland and Wallerawang skate parks to celebrate their officially opening. The recently completed parks will host music, skating, demonstrations and lessons on November 23: Portland at 9am and Wallerawang at 12.30pm.
Bush dance

Paranormal tour
Mt Vic, November 23
Lithgow Paranormal Research Group will host a paranormal investigation of the Mount Victoria Museum. Join a paranormal investigator, medium and EVP specialist in recorded voice phenomenon for an interesting evening. Tickets are $20 each, with all proceeds going to support the museum. Held at the Tarana fire shed grounds, the farmers markets offer a range of goods and produce from 9am-1pm.
Lap the Map
November 24
Lithgow Lions Club will host a Lap the Map for Diabetes family fun day at Blast Furnace Park from 11am. There will be a free sausage sizzle, fresh food, games and face-painting.
High tea
November 24
Quota's dance extravaganza and high tea will be held on at 1pm at the Lithgow Workies, featuring the talents of ten local dance schools. Tickets are available now online www.outix.co/tickets/events/quota.
Choir concert

Phoenix Choir perform Mendelssohn's Elijah at 3pm on Sunday, November 24 at Hoskins Uniting Church, Lithgow. Tickets are available at the door or online at phoenixchoir.org.au/tickets.
Exhibition
Hartley, November 30-December 1
Adorn, including forged iron sculptures with a jewellery theme, will be held in the historic Corney's Garage, below Talisman Gallery, from November 30 to December 1, with an official opening at 2pm on the Saturday.
Ukulele Group
Lithgow, every Tuesday
The Lithgow Ukulele Group meets at the back of Lithgow Library every Tuesday at 10am (not Wednesday as stated in Friday's edition). All are welcome.
Community Festival
Lithgow, November 30
A free community barbecue will be held at Queen Elizabeth Park as part of the Lithgow Community Festival, to be held on Saturday, November 30 from 11am-2pm. On the day, you can try out new hobbies and explore local community groups and services.

Choral celebration
Lithgow, December 1
Lithgow Community Choir and Blue Mountains Community Choir will present a combined end of year choral concert for friends and family at Hoskins Uniting Church. The choirs present their new repertoire from their year (as well as some old favourites) led by musical directors Sue Capper and Rowen Fox. All tickets are $10, available at the door, kids are free. Join in the hall afterwards for afternoon tea.
Shopping
Lithgow, December 5
Enjoy night-time shopping in Main Street, Lithgow, on Thursday, December 5 from 5.30pm to 8pm along with community entertainment. At 7.30pm the official lighting of the Christmas tree will be held.
Community carols
Lithgow, December 12
Zig Zag Public School will be hosting its annual community carols with all the trimmings at 6pm. Join in the fun of singing and the chocolate wheel before a visit from the jolly man in red.
Fri-Yay fete
Portland, December 13
Portland Central School will host a Fri-Yay Fete and fun fair from 12pm. It will include a cafe, music, art, markets, games and food. Free entry. All are welcome.
