Glen Davis, Glen Alice and Newnes residents have been put on alert.
The largest fire currently burning in this region is a 122,000 hectare bushfire burning in the Wollemi National Park near Lithgow.
The Office of Environment and Heritage (OEH) warns that visibility has been affected across the region and urges people with heart and lung disease should avoid exercising outdoors.
