The music starts from 2pm.
Lithgow Blast is an alcohol-free all-ages event for young people and their families and features a smashing line up of stellar artists from across the musical spectrum.
Hay is an award-winning Australian artist who invokes the best of stomping traditional blues, hard rock and booty-shaking funk, all delivered with slide guitar chops to burn and a vocal range to match.
He will be joined by Odette, The Delta Riggs, Yours Truly, Citizen Kay and a slew of local emerging talent between 2pm and 9pm on the day.
There will be food stalls, room for a picnic and a safe, friendly space to let off some steam and dig some brilliant tunes.
NSW is experiencing one of the most severe droughts on record, with the Central West region one of the worst affected to date.
The past six months have seen the lowest recorded inflows into the river and its storages in history, making life very tough for many people living in the area, particularly families and young people.
Lithgow City Council representative, Matthew Johnson, said: "This free concert is being held for Lithgow's young people and is part of council's program of activities for communities affected by the drought.
"Drought relief is more than actions that directly relate to the land, it includes the celebration of community strength and the provision of festive occasions.
"Lithgow has never before seen such a line-up of great musicians, so put it in your diary and tell all your friends."
To ease into the day and connect with the local surrounds, Lithgow Walk 'n' Talk for Life is leading a walk around Lake Pillans starting at 1.30pm.
Lithgow Blast - A free concert for drought affected communities is at Blast Furnace Park, Inch Street, Lithgow (free shuttle bus from Lithgow CBD) on Saturday, November 16. Gates open at 1pm, music starts at 2pm. It is a free event and is funded through the Commonwealth Government's Drought Communities Program.
