The Portland Spinstars pinked up the Portland Golf Club on Wednesday, October 30 for a morning tea raising money for breast cancer research.

Members brought along their spinning wheels for a yarn, cup of tea and a tasty treat.
Portland Spinstar member Cathy Stait said the cause was one close to her heart.

"I'm a nurse and I've seen the devastation breast cancer causes.
"Breast cancer affects everyone, so any improvement to treatment we can make is amazing - it feels good to make a small difference," she said.
The spinning group also held an auction on the day which raised a total of $530. Items were donated from members.
