He has been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
He was refused bail and is due to appear before Lithgow Local Court on Thursday, October 31.
He was arrested this morning after a 42-year-old was treated for stab wounds.
Information released earlier today by NSW Police stated the victim was a 22-year-old but that information has since been corrected.

Police are investigating a stabbing in Lithgow in the early hours of Wednesday morning, October 30.
A 58-year-old was arrested at the scene. He was taken to Lithgow Police Station where he is assisting police with their inquiries.
It is alleged a 22-year-old suffered stab wounds during an altercation. He presented at Lithgow Hospital at about 6am and was taken to Nepean Hospital for further treatment. He is in a stable condition.
The entire alley way behind the Lithgow Court House was sectioned off, as was access to the Eskbank Street car park up until after 9am as police investigated the incident.
An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident continue.

A man is being transferred to Nepean Hospital for treatment to a suspected stab wound.
The man arrived at Lithgow Hospital early this morning and is in a stable condition.
A spokesperson for Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District stated he would be transferred from Lithgow this morning for further treatment.
The laneway between the Court House Hotel and the Lithgow Court House, and the intersection between Mort Street and Eskbank Street, has reopened.

A crime scene has been established in Lithgow's CBD after an incident in the early hours of the Wednesday morning, October 30.
A spokesperson from NSW Ambulance stated that there had been a report of a stabbing near the Court House Hotel, but no one was treated or transported from the scene via ambulance.
Lithgow Police have cordoned off the laneway between the Court House Hotel and the Lithgow Court House.
The intersection between Mort Street and Eskbank Street has also been blocked since 6.30am
Lithgow Police stated the team was waiting for crime scene investigators to arrive.
No further details were available at this time, the police stated.
