The site came alive with market stalls and fun activities for the kids as the historic buildings, including the 1837 Greek Revival Courthouse, was thrown open.
Dancers and performers entertained the crowd.
This year, all the funds raised at the Back to Hartley event went to 1st Blackheath Scout troop.
"Hartley Historic Site is an important reminder of our colonial past and nothing beats seeing it teeming with people like it once was," National Parks and Wildlife Service Area Manager Angela Lonergan said.
"The volunteers on the Hartley Historic Site Advisory Committee take much pride in organising this annual event, showcasing this remarkable time capsule in the central west."
