The award will allow the young filmmaker access to some of SF3's masterclasses to allow her to pursue her filmmaking dreams and was announced at the film award presentation at the Lithgow Workmen's Club on Sunday, October 27.
Car park thriller 'Rearview' won both the most creative and People's Choice awards, as voted by viewers at the Lithgow Halloween festival on Saturday.
Filmmaker Ren Thackham flagged her interest in returning to Lithgow to explore locations for her next film.
"The real win for me has been coming to Lithgow," she said.
Best performance went to Mittagong siblings Olive and Ludo Blakemore for their silent-era inspired comedy 'The Bush Vampire'.
"We liked seeing silent films and thought it would be fun to do our own," Olive said.
All films were shot on mobile phone or tablet.
SF3 founders Ali Crew and Angela Blake said it was a very promising start for the Lithgow event, with more than 480 entries drawn from all over the world.
"From all over the world, that's literally, from Spain, the US, the UK, South Korea, a really interesting selection of horror themed films," Ali said.
"It's been a really wonderful journey to see these films and filmmakers come out, and local filmmakers as well."
