With dragons, witches, pumpkins, fairies, ghosts, ghouls and so much more on show everybody was in the mood to dress up.
Members of Lithgow Council spent the first part of the annual Halloween festival carefully picking out quirky costumes for the best dressed competition.
The winner of the adult women's costume competition went to Dubbo woman Jess Harris with her female Loki costume.
With a light up crown and staff, the costume took Ms Harries over nine months to complete.
"I had to do the staff in one week because I had a deadline, but I did work really hard on it," she said.
It was Ms Harries' second time attending Lithgow Halloween, but last year she wasn't as dressed up.
"No, nothing like this, but seeing the costumes I thought this year I would give it a go and I just can't believe I won, just wow..." she said.
The other winners included Nate Levick as Lipstick Demon, Aylah Sye as Annabelle, Marley Thomson as IT, Kiah Becroft and Jackson Piggott as a zombie bride and groom and Eric Walton as the female joker.
