Work has begun on a dedicated turning lane from the Great Western Highway onto Range Road at Meadow Flat.

Work started on Monday and will be carried out on weekdays between 7am and 6pm and on Saturdays from 8am to 1pm, weather permitting.
Changed traffic conditions will include lane closures closest to where work is taking place.
The upgrade is expected to be completed in early 2020.

Motorists are advised to plan their trip, allow extra travel time and follow the direction of all signs, including reduced speed signs.
Bathurst MP Paul Toole said the highway safety work demonstrated the NSW Government's commitment to delivering better, safer roads infrastructure.
"The Nationals in government are investing $2.1 million to improve safety at this intersection of the Great Western Highway while planning work continues for further upgrades for this important connection to the Central West," Mr Toole said.

"Ensuring motorists turning in and out of Range Road on to the highway can do so safely is vital, particularly given the number of heavy vehicles which use this section of road.
"The upgrade also includes widening the highway and installing new safety barriers."
