In the club triples Chris Neaves defeated the Nunan family in the first round but his team of Peter Matchett, Bruce Robinson and Neaves got their butt kicked as Craig Brown, Craig Pugsley and Peter Piggott lead 19 to 4 and then 23-9 before the mercy rule was used.
The Piggott team then backed up to take on Peter Williams, Jeff Howden and Tiger Feltham and once again came away with a good win. Feltham got away to a good 6-1 lead but then went to sleep as Piggott scored 16 straight shots. Feltham fought back but Piggott finished too strong as he won 27-15.
Barry Jackson, Jed Fraser and Steve Jackson always had control in their game against Des Evans, Jack Whitaker and George Brawn. Jackson led 7-2 and 10-3 and then maintained this lead before winning 20-13.
Joe Menchin and Ross Harrington must have fancied their chances as they teamed up with minor singles winner Geoff Flynn to take on Murray Steward, Daryl Archer and Mike McNamara.
Their bubble got bust early as McNamara lead 16-6 at the half way mark before winning 28-9.
The sheets are on the board for the mixed pairs and the draw for the fours should be up. The Thursday twilights continue this week with names in by 4.45pm. This is social bowls at its best and is open to everyone bowlers and non bowlers.
