- Lithgow Theatre Group's 'Agatha Crusty and the Village Hall Murders' will be performed at Club Lithgow at 8pm. There will also be shows on Friday and Saturday night, October 25 and 26. Tickets available at the club or the door.
Saturday, October 19
- Quota's annual craft fair at Hoskins Uniting Church Parish Centre, 9am-4pm.
- Lithgow's Mingaan NAIDOC Day celebrations at Cranbrook School Wolgan Valley Campus, 1860 Wolgan Rd, Wolgan Valley from 10am. Stalls, history and cultural displays.
- Celebration of Lithgow's 150 years of rail at Bowenfels train station just after the arrival of the visiting steam train at 12.20pm (more on page 3).
- Shuttle train rides from Lithgow to Wallerawang with Lachlan Valley Railway.
- Devonshire tea at Lithgow State Mine Heritage Park, 10am-4pm.
- Classic steam train films at the Main Street Cinema at 2pm and 4.15pm. Special screening of classic 'Peking Express' at 7pm.
- Free family movie night at Lake Wallace, hosted by the Wallerawang CAS. The Incredibles 2 will screen at 7pm. Bring camp chairs and snacks.
Sunday, October 20
- Gone Fishing Day at Lake Wallace, Wallerawang, 7.30am until 4pm (more on page 17).
- Capertee fundraising train event. While there are no tickets left for the train ride itself, there will be entertainment and markets in Capertee during the day. Fundraiser for Capertee Hall.
Saturday, October 26
- Celebrate Portland Festival, including a show 'n' shine, markets, ute muster and live music. Gold coin entry. From 10am.
- Re-Expo Hoskins Memorial Church Parish Centre, including stalls, demonstrations, ideas and fun focused on 'Re-duce, Re-power, Re-cycle, Re-Think'. It will run from 10am-3pm.
- Operation Christmas Child's annual fundraising concert, The Voice of Hope, will be held at Lithgow Baptist Church at 2.30pm. Entry by donation.
- Lithgow Halloween festival. Lithgow's Main Street will become a wonderland of costumes and attractions from 3pm until 10pm. Ghost train rides and other attractions coming. (Look out for more information in the next week.)
Sunday, October 27
- The Rydal Show Society Youth Council Gymkhana will be held from 8.30am at Rydal Showground.
- Back to Hartley, the historic festival showcasing Hartley's historic village and more, will be held from 9am-4pm. $5 per car. More information coming soon.
- Take the steam train to Tarana to visit the thriving Tarana Farmers Markets. Visit www.lvr.com.au for more information.
