Motorists travelling between Lithgow and Bathurst have been warned to take it easy following reports of snow and ice on the road at Yetholme.
Roads and Maritime Services' Live Traffic website says the unseasonal conditions are impacting traffic in both directions and motorists are advised to allow extra travel time.
The spring snow, which started around 1pm, will also create an unwelcome hazard for the thousands of drivers making their way to Bathurst for this weekend's Bathurst 1000.

Further possible showers are forecast tomorrow, clearing on Sunday.
Snow has also been reported at the top of Mount Canobolas in Orange.
