In preparation, the rugby league side took on the Lithgow Bears on Saturday, September 28 in a trial match at Tony Luchetti Sportsground.
Coach Mark Northey said it was a chance to give the boys a run and see what improvements were needed.
"We're just having a little hit out against the Bears to give us a run and see how we go and what we need to work on.
"We've been training for the last month.. busy preparing," he said.
The NSW Koori Knockout is one of the biggest sporting Aboriginal gatherings in Australia and is set to run for its 49th year.
This year's Central West squad is made up from Indigenous players from around Lithgow, Bathurst, Oberon and Orange, with a few newcomers.
Lithgow players named in the squad include Northey, Ryan and Jack Bilby, Steve Muldoon, Boe Giles and Ryan Chapman-Peters.

"Most of the boys have been around since the start and we've got a couple of extra players that have come in this year but most of us have been playing for seven years," Northey said.
He said he looked forward to the knockout because it was an opportunity to catch up with other Indigenous people from around Australia.
"To be a part of the biggest Aboriginal gathering at one time.. it's just mind blowing.
"There's nearly 50,000 people there over the whole weekend," he said.
Northey looked confident heading into the weekend but said it all depended on the draw.
"Hopefully we will go good but we'll be up against a lot of strong sides which have got a lot of NRL players in them," he said.
All men's games start on Saturday, October 5 with finals to be played on Monday, October 7. You can watch Friday's and Saturday's games live streamed on the Koori Knockout app. Sunday and Monday's games will be live on NITV.
