A driver who was prevented from leaving a petrol station by a man lying across her bonnet faced Lithgow Local Court on August 16, charged with obtaining financial advantage by deception.

The court heard Penrith woman Chrystal Marks, 35, put $11 worth of fuel in her vehicle at Lithgow's Midtown Fuels on October 19, 2018.
After filling up, a worker inside the petrol station saw her getting back in her car. He approached the car and lay on the bonnet as she tried to leave. The court heard Marks accelerated away for a short distance before stopping, with the staff member still on the bonnet. He called triple zero.
Marks was fined $400.
Stunt
A young Bowenfels man who threw a fire extinguisher from a car to scare a couple of young girls on foot has been fined $600.
Lithgow Local Court heard Daniel Newsome, 19, was sitting in the passenger seat of a car driving in Portland on July 11 this year when he saw fire extinguisher sitting on the ground near an East Portland bus stop. According to a police report presented at court, he got out and picked it up, spraying it through the passenger's window at the driver of the car before bringing it inside the car with him.
Spotting two young girls standing on Williwa Street, he threw the extinguisher out and it landed approximately 20m away from them. A following car stopped to check on the girls, who were shaken but not injured and the police were called.
He was charged with throwing something onto the road.
Stealing
Lithgow woman Kelly Lee Brewin, 40, has been sentenced to 12 months in prison, to be served in the community as an intensive corrections order, for property offences.
She was found guilty of snatching a gold chain from a man's neck during an argument in Campbelltown on January 5 this year.
Brewin was also convicted of receiving or disposing of stolen property. Lithgow Local Court heard the victim of a robbery was walking past a Cash Converters in Campbelltown and spotted some his stolen items, a road case and CDJ machine, on display. They items had been stolen during a break-in on January 3, 2018.
He reported the incident to police. Kelly Brewin's name was found to be on the contract held by the store and she was charged.
