Students from Zig Zag Public School recently received 36 basketballs from Lithgow Basketball Association as part of the Federal Government's Sporting Schools initiative.

Lithgow Basketball coaching director Adam Marjoram said it felt good to be able to give back to kids in local schools.
"It's a great initiative that also helps keep the kids active," he said.
He said the plan was to also get kids interested in basketball.

"We want to lead them into getting involved in our Aussie Hoops program which runs at the stadium each school term," he said.
The students from Zig Zag were very thankful to receive the basketballs and enjoyed playing games as part of their physical education.
Each basketball also had a special message written to each student from Adam Marjoram.
