Draw September 17: at Club Lithgow Miscues versus Helmets and at The Workies Check Side versus Red Sox and Pockets versus Jiggers whilst Tall Timbers have the bye.
With five weeks of the competition left the new team Check Side are still out in front and have raised the bar for the others to catch. This week Red Sox reversed the first round result by putting Pockets in their place with a spirited 5-2 win.
In the 'battle of Club Lithgow' Miscues regrouped from their first round flogging took the lollies this time 4-3 over Jiggers. After two consecutive losses Check Side bounced back to beat Tall Timbers but they only scraped through by nine aggregate points.
C & W Printing Red Sox versus Higgins Lawyers Pockets:
Leo Keeley versus Alex Whitworth: Whitworth since his handicap change proved he can put a game together as he defeated Keeley 73 - 52 for his first win.
Peter Warner versus Chris Baker: Baker has a bad case of the yips though he did score a 14 break but in was Warner who was intimidation mode to easily win 82 - 39.
Ryley Core versus Dane Barrington: Barrington put in a very much improved effort as he almost inflicted Core's first loss but just failed as Core won 61 - 57.
Rod Denley versus Lawrence Creasy: Creasy played a better game this time as he scored two breaks of 11 and 12 as he won 55 - 32 now leaving Denley as his teams whipping boy.
Garry Nolan versus Brad Preston: Once Nolan caught the deficit he went on to win 51 - 39 inflicting Preston his first loss.
John Lyons versus Shane Eagle: Lyons had to give 18 start and that was eliminated when he scored an 18 break and once he took the lead he was too good for Eagle winning 62 - 54 in a good game.
The players of the match were Peter Warner and Lawrence Creasy.
Hunter Mining Methods Miscues versus Welch's Highway Smash Repairs Jiggers:
Dylan Ford versus Jeff Martin: Martin took control of the match on the colours and he proved too strong for Ford to win 87 - 45.
Troy Clarke versus Kevin Slaven: Slaven played a game of patience as he let Clarke make some mistakes and once he got close he pounced with a 13 break and moved on to win 66 - 45.
Wayne Lewis versus Matt Tattersall: After a see sawing type of game it was Tattersall who stood tall and with a good 13 break won easily beating Lewis 70 - 44 who had his parents watching.
David Adams versus Garry Bender: Bender took the lead and looked like he was going to win when Adams turned his game around scoring an 11 break to even the scores and did well when he potted the black to win 46 - 39.
Leon Rust versus Allan Piggott: This was a low scoring game as neither could put together a run of points and after a very grinding type of game it was Rust who just fell over the line 36 - 31.
Greg Sutton versus Dennis Goodwin: Sutton had an unassailable lead whilst Goodwin struggled and Sutton played a very good shot to pot the black but went in/off giving Goodwin easy points though Sutton was too good 59 - 25.

Carpet One Tall Timbers versus Check Side:
Howie Fisher versus Mal Hewitt: Once Hewitt had caught the lead he did everything to keep it and Fisher tried his hardest but Hewitt was too good 62 - 40.
Bill Cook versus Logan Spice: Cook was looking around like a Meerkat in between shots as he gave Spice a natural history lesson to win 64 - 43.
Michael Tonkin versus Denzel Nicholson: Nicholson put together a good game and with the help of breaks of 22 and 17 gave the more experienced Tonkin a lesson 86 - 35.
Frank Wawn versus Michael Wellings: Wawn did not let Wellings get into his groove as he potted his way to a 69 - 40 win.
Michael McCosker versus Luke Morris: Morris again played well and he bought the best out of McCosker who went shot for good shot but in the end Morris did enough to win 76 - 66.
Steve Hewitt versus Aaron Vandermeer: The scores for a long time were close and as the game got longer it was Hewitt who took control and went on to win 73 - 49.
The players of the match were Denzel Nicholson and Steve Hewitt.
