Four of La Salle's talented athletes are headed to Sydney Olympic Park on Friday, September 20 for the NSWCCC championships.
After success at the Bathurst Diocesan Regional athletics carnival (Thursday, August 29), Tanvir Singh will compete in javelin, Winston Neville will run the 1500 metres, Tess Sheather will see how high she can jump and Jorja Bailey will try her best at shot put.
Singh has competed at NSWCCC every year while at La Salle and said he hoped to make it to the All Schools.
"It's my last year of school so I'm hopeful to make it this time because I've come second every other year," he said.
He said because he played cricket it helped when it came to throwing a javelin.
"I just picked it up one day and threw it, each year I get better and better," he said.
For Neville it will be his first time competing at NSWCCC and he looked forward to the competition.
"I've never been to that level before so it will be a new experience, I'm excited," he said.
La Salle Academy sports coordinator Darren Culnane wanted to wish the students all the best with their training and preparation leading into the championships.
He also thanked staff who assisted with the organisation and running of the Diocesan carnival and the group of parents who provided support and encouragement at the carnival.
