Draw: September 10 at Club Lithgow Jiggers versus Miscues and at The Workies Check Side versus Tall Timbers and Red Sox versus Pockets whilst Helmets have the bye.
This week all the scores were the same 5 - 2 and for the second time this competition Check Side were defeated this time by Miscues but Check Side still lead the pack by five points. Helmets made short work of Tall Timbers with one stand out game and Jiggers added to Red Sox woes with a good win.
Hunter Mining Methods Miscues versus Check Side:
Garry Bender versus Mal Hewitt: It was a good game by both and it was Bender who held out a determined Hewitt 55 - 49. Dennis Goodwin versus Michael Wellings: Wellings did play some very good shots but it was the consistency of Goodwin who did it easy 72 - 47.
Brian Nightingale versus Jack Bilby: Nightingale continued his form from last week playing well whilst Bilby only played well in patches as Nightingale won easily 50 - 30.
Matt Tattersall versus Denzel Nicholson: Nicholson scored a 15 break though it was not enough as Tattersall reversed the first round result to win 59 - 45.
Paul Wilcox versus Aaron Vandermeer: When the black was finally potted the scores were level so the black ball was re-spotted to find the winner and it was Vandermeer who potted that to win 46 - 39 in a good game by both.
Ritchie Bilby versus Luke Morris: Bilby lead for most of the game but once Morris scored a 19 break it was enough for him to take and maintain the lead to win 62 - 41.
The players of the match were Matt Tattersall and Luke Morris.
Lithgow Valley Storage Helmets versus Carpet One Tall Timbers:
Ian Bulkeley versus Frank Wawn: Wawn eventually got back on track as he held out a fast finishing Bulkeley 59 - 39 and the result was not a reflection of the game.
Dillan McBey versus Howie Fisher: McBey almost pulled off a win but Fisher did very well to pull this out of the fire for a very close result 53 - 51.
Chris Smart versus Maurie Smith: Smith was making a lot of errors and gave points to his opponent and Smart scored 46 points in three breaks of 16,16 and 14 as he put Smith into the '100' club 116- 14.
Ian Miles versus Steve Hewitt: Hewitt never gave up as he tried very hard but it was the 'formaldehyde express' Miles at his best as he ground out a 70 - 49 win.
Robert Farnsworth versus Michael McCosker: Farnsworth was feeling jittery as McCosker was coming home strong and nearly took the game but Farnsworth held his nerve to only just win 48 - 46.
Brett Bradley versus Bill Cook: This was all one way as 'Botox' Bradley played a very good game to beat Cook 69 - 31 who though did try hard.
The players of the match were Chris Smart and Frank Wawn.
C & W Printing Red Sox versus Welch's Highway Smash Repairs Jiggers:
Peter Warner versus Trent Lewis: Lewis played some good shots but once Warner scored two breaks of 14 and 18 he was on his way to a very good win 88 - 66.
Ryley Core versus Sharnie Roberts: Core played a very good game as he scored two breaks of 11 and 12 in chasing the 30 point lead Roberts when he won 67 - 45 leaving Roberts to only score 15 points.
Jeff Stait versus Wayne Lewis: About mid game Lewis decided to make a game of it and was doing it easy as he maintained and increased his lead to win 66 - 40.
Rod Denley versus Troy Clarke: Denley played a few good shots but you could see he did not have his mind on the job as Clarke was only just doing enough to bring the game home 56 - 40.
John Lyons versus Greg Sutton: Sutton needed the last two balls to win after leading for 98 per cent of the game and he did just that potting the pink and black to win 76 - 74 unfortunately for Lyons who did all the hard work.
Garry Nolan versus Davis Adams: Nolan almost pulled off a victory but it was Adams who did enough to hold off his opponent to win 64 - 57.
The players of the match were Wayne Lewis and John Lyons.
