Daffodils are ideally suited to the conditions at Rydal, needing a colder climate to grow, where other towns across the region too hot or humid to grow them successfully. Daffodils at Rydal 2019 will take place over the two weekends of September 7 and 8, along with September 14 and 15, allowing locals and visitors alike the opportunity to explore the amazing gardens, stalls and entertainment that Rydal will have on show.
Publicity officer for the Rydal Village Association, Lindsay Green, said that despite some mixed weather recently, they were still expecting some amazing displays. " The ongoing drought and lack of rain has caused some issues, while the recent snow also did some damage," she said. "The open gardens include Pioneers Park, Greg Featherstone Park, Rydal Cottage, Rose Cottage, Silver Birches, Forest View, Country Gardens, Bark Ridge and Karingal".
An entry fee of just $15 entry grants you access to all the gardens across the weekends, while there will also be a special features sculpture in the park, art show and an all day barbecue whipping up all sorts of treats including delicious bacon and egg rolls, hot soup and rolls, and everyone's favourite - the trusty steak sandwich, which will be available at Greg Featherstone Park and at the Country Garden Bark Ridge on the Hampton Road. As always the festival will be raising funds for charity with and the organisations that will benefit for everyone's generosity this year will be Legacy and St Vincent De Paul in Lithgow.

A very special feature this year celebrates 150 years since the Rydal Rail Station opened and now that the Rydal Village Association has the station lease, you will be able to stay there overnight making it the only active train station in NSW where you can stay.
