A 55-year-old man and a 16-year-old youth from Greenacre visited an inmate at Lithgow Correctional Centre on Sunday, August 25.
During their visit with the inmate, it is alleged the young man produced a cupcake and handed it to the inmate who ate it.
The incident was caught on CCTV and the visit was stopped.
The inmate was taken to a dry cell. Balloons that contained cannabis and buprenorphine strips were allegedly found.
Prohibited item
A St Claire man will be charged with bringing a prohibited item into a place of detention after allegedly being found with a taser in his car.
The taser was allegedly found in the car of a 56-year-old St Claire man attended Lithgow Correctional Centre on Saturday, August 24 at 8.45am.
Police who were called to the centre by Lithgow Correctional officers were handed a black object in a velcro case, which contained a taser.
The man will be charged with possessing a prohibited item without a permit and possessing a prohibited item in place of detention.
Stolen copper wire
Police are investigating a report that up to $10,000 worth of copper wire was stolen from a business on Inch Street, Lithgow, between Wednesday, August 21 and Thursday, August 22.
