The boys competed in three big matches against Bathurst, West Wyalong and Dubbo South to take home the top spot.

Winning each match, the boys took home a 55-39 win against Bathurst, 60-32 win against West Wyalong and a nail biting 45-42 win against Dubbo South.

Team manager Deb Farebrother said this was the second round of the Western region tournament.

"We are now in the top 16 in the state, and we will go on to play the North West region and if we win that one we go into the state knockout," she said.

"But we take it one game at a time."

Under the guidance of Adam Marjoram, Gary Inwood and Gary Wallace, the boys have trained hard to get this far in the competition.

"Most of the boys play in various Lazers teams, and since we don't have a coach at school, we can only train once a week when the games get closer, but because they play outside school they know each other," Farebrother said.

"In the first round of competition Adam Marjoram coached them, but then due to work commitments for the second round both Gary Inwood and Gary Wallace stood up to help the boys."

Ms Fairbrother said the boys were a fantastic team and worked well together.

"Everyone has their strengths and they work well together as a team. They definitely had some good wins," she said.

She also had some words of praise for the captain of the side.

"Captain Kade Inwood was a real leader and all the boys respected and listened to him, he was a really great captain," she said.

"I also need to thank our coaches and parents who gave up their time to drive the boys to West Wyalong to play three games and then come back again.

"We are very lucky to have such great parents at the school."
