The Lithgow Panthers have had a killer season, sitting on top of the table and have secured their top spot despite a 3-0 loss to St Pat's on August 3.

"Two weeks ago we got beat by St Pats 3-0 but we were happy with the result considering we had seven players missing and our young guys played really well," Panthers vice captain Trent MacDonald said.

Last weekend, the Panthers were to meet with Parkes United before finals this Saturday, and while officials held off on calling off the match in the hope it would be possible to play at the Lithgow field, it was abandoned due to snow.

St Pat's were going into last Saturday's game against Orange Wanderers as heavy favourites, and if an in-form Parkes United had been able to score a win over Lithgow Panthers then the Saints would have shot to the top of the table.

However fortunate for the Lithgow side, it's straight into the semi-finals to be played against St Pat's at home this weekend [August 17] at 1.30pm.

"It will be the first time we have had our full side all year so we are looking forward to that," a confident MacDonald said.

The minor semi-final will be played between Parkes United and the Orange Wanderers.

Lithgow Panthers women's team will also be contesting the minor semi against Confederates at Lithgow this weekend.

The Panthers finished the regular season in third spot behind Orange CYMS and Bathurst St Pat's.

Lithgow Zig Zag is out of the competition, after finishing in last place.
