THE weekend's icy blast that left the region covered in snow has resulted in a stern warning from police for motorists to drive to the conditions.
Numerous roads were closed across the weekend and on Monday while others had an alpine alert for snow and ice.
Among the accidents were a vehicle rollover on the Mitchell Highway on Sunday, while a truck lost its load in Mandurama on Monday.

Chifley Police District Chief Inspector Gerard Powell said some motorists ignored the alpine alerts.
"Drive to the conditions and if the roads are closed, don't drive on them," he pleaded.
Chief Inspector Powell said all too often drivers underestimate how challenging it can be to drive on a road covered with snow and ice.
"I don't think they realise the difficulty of driving on an icy and snowy roads," he said.
"They think it's like mud, but they don't realise how difficult it can be and ice poses all sorts of problems."
