Van Veen was charged by the match review committee after his side's round 15 win over defending premiers Bathurst Panthers but because the necessary footage was received late, he was forced to sit out last weekend's loss to Orange Hawks and front the judiciary on Thursday instead.

Andrew Bain was also successful in having his striking charge downgraded, his one-match ban was served last weekend.
