To celebrate, and bring it to Lithgow audiences, an official Lithgow launch will be held at the Commercial Hotel on Saturday, August 3 from 8pm.
The night will feature music and performances by Sam Williams, Erin Darcy, Jimmi Carr, Julian Macphee, Linda Hawkless, James Daley, Mahala, and Patrick and the Purple Light Plan.
The project drew together artists who had been drawn to talk about their own mental health journeys, or that of those around them.
"We hope [the album] makes people feel like they are not alone, allows them to speak out and reach out to other people," Linda Hawkless, whose poetry is featured on the album, said.
Funds raised will go to suicide prevention in Lithgow. Among the projects to be supported would be LINC's mental health first aid kits to support organisations and schools in responding to mental health concerns within their communities.
Musician Sam Williams said the album allowed artists to tell stories about facing mental health challenges, whether they were experiencing it at that moment, or have found their way out.
Entry is by donation. The CD will be available for purchase at the event and via the Bandcamp site.
The group thanked Peter Kennard from Different Drum studio for his input into the making of the album.
