The crews worked with Veolia Australia to put together a pre-incident plan to stop any accidents from occurring in the future.
The crew performed a risk assessment test on the plant, as there are hundreds of hazardous materials on site.
"As the hazardous response team in the area it is our job to meet with staff and understand how the plant works and what materials are on site so we are prepared if we ever have to respond to an incident on site," Lithgow Fire and Rescue station officer Steven Houghton said.
Childcare visit
Earlier in the week Lithgow Fire and Rescue visited Gumnut Childcare Centre to educate the young children about fire safety.
