It was a bit of a miserable start for Lithgow's three State Age teams, which competed at Penrith on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, July 6-8.

The Under 12's, Under 13's and Under 14's teams were part of the State Age Championships, which pitted them against regional teams from across NSW.
The rain fell during the annual morning march, which kicked off the three days of action, but luckily the drops held off while the teams played.
Fog presented a challenge on Sunday, as it did not lift until about 1pm.
Lithgow District Netball Association's teams each played 19 games and did their region proud. Games were shortened to 12 minute halves.
The Under 14's won four games during the weekend, finishing 16th on the ladder.
The Under 13's won seven games, with several coming down to the wire which they were unlucky not to win. They finished 14th.
It was a tough time for the Under 12's squad, which won one game during the weekend's play to finish in 19th. The team also had some very close contests.
The Association thanked the umpires who went along for the competition and umpired an average of five games, Macee Heterick, Alanna Stoneley, Josephine Smith and reserve Leanne Houlison.
Each team was accompanied by two team managers and one team carer.
The Under 12's team has been coached by Denise Nightingale, Under 13 team by Leanne Houlison and Under 14's by Sheree Elliott.
The under 12's girls were playing for their injured teammate Jarah Cafe, who was not able to attend the event, and held up her photo in their team shot.
