Panthers vice captain Trent MacDonald said he was a bit weary and expected a tough game against the United side following a close 2-1 win last time they met.
"We knew it was going to be a hard game after last time but we really wanted to go up there and make a statement, so we did," he said.

The purples led early with a safe score of 4-1 at half-time in which MacDonald said, his side "were playing some really good hockey".
"We were happy with our half-time score, we were moving the ball around lots and knew if we kept that up we would eventually run over the top of them which we did," he said.
Heading into a breezy second half the Panthers scored seven goals with standout Brandan Horner tucking away six of those.
MacDonald said Horner was an obvious standout followed by Lachie Wilson and Taylor Dolbel.
The Panthers will take a break this weekend and will return on July 20 where they will take on Orange.
The team goes into the match as firm favourite, with the Wanderers languishing at the bottom of the table with zero points.
The Panthers meanwhile remain out in front on 22, with their closest rival Bathurst St Pat's on 18. Parkes is in third.
LITHGOW PANTHERS 11 (Brandan Horner 6, Taylor Dolbel 3, Greg Nelson, Nic Milne) def PARKES UNITED 1 (Andrew Bourke).
