The popular pro has decided to move his life in a different direction that will give him a lot more time of a weekend to be with his wife and two young daughters.
Garry has been the Lithgow professional at the golf club for the past 11 years after returning 'home' after working as the assistant professional at the Leonay Golf Club in Penrith.
A very talented golfer, he still holds the Lithgow record for four rounds in the club championships.
With his three brothers, mother Vicki and former champion Max, the popular family has been a big part of the club for many years.
At the presentation, board member Greg Guest and a number of other speakers spoke in glowing terms of the contribution Garry has made to the club over the past decade and then presented him with a token of the club's appreciation.
Garry, on thanking the club, remarked his retirement as the club's professional will now give him an opportunity to play more golf with his many friends at the Lithgow club.
