According to Lithgow basketball Association president Richard Marjoram the season was a very successful one which saw an increase across all ages in playing numbers.
The results were as follows:
- Under 12/14 girls: Flames defeat Panthers 43-36
- Under 12 boys: Gators defeat Chargers 63-34
- Under 14 boys: Rockets defeated Caveliers 47 to 22.
- Under 16/18 boys Celtics defeated Thunder 79 to 67
Every team in the grand finals gave it their all and performed with great sportsmanship which we have come to expect from our junior teams, Marjoram said.
"Their was a number of new and older referees through the season and to them we say thank you, without them we have no competitions," he said.
"Many thanks to Scott Simcoe our referee director for his time doing referee rosters each week and working with our junior referees."
Marjoram also wanted to thank David Swift for helping him run the boys competition on Thursday nights as well as running the girls competition on Wednesdays.
"We also need to thank Heidi Inwood for doing the draws for the competition and the printing weekly of the score sheets and Michelle Thompson for keeping the score ladder during the season," he said.
