Those that figured in the placings during the Lithgow Golf Club's stableford event on the weekend would have putted well as the holes were in some diabolical and testing positions.

The greens are running at a fast speed which added to the difficulty for the field.
The best stableford score came out of C grade with one of the club's popular veterans Tom Jennings amassing 40 points to take out the major voucher.
The consistent Jennings finished three in front of runner-up Paul Bailey who also had best C grade scratch score with 91.
The winner of A grade was Max Nightingale on 38 points on a countback from runner up Anthony Oldfield.
This was excellent golf by Nightingale who was one of the first to tee off and played the majority of his round in the heavy frosts and rock hard greens.Best scratch score went to Bill Oldfield with 73.
Dave Hicks was best in B grade with 37 points two better than runner up Jeff Geddes. Hicks also took out the best scratch score with 85 ocb.
Nearest the pin awards went to Harry Bender, Sue Brooks, Darcy Allan, Don Farnsworth and Anthony Oldfield.

The difficulty of the frosty day was show by the fact that the ball competition went down to those with 34 points on a countback and they were Brendan Lloyd, Rod Bright, Ian Downey, Harry Bender, Paul Bailey, Bill Oldfield, Steve Jennings, Gary Keen, Daniel Buckens and Brad Gordon.
It was a good couple of days for Max Nightingale who also won the Friday nine hole competition the day before with 31 points with Brendan Swift runner up on 29.
Ball winners were Trevor Cameron, Michael Bennett and Carl Hall. Nearest the pin winner was Greg Guest.
