La Salle Academy's Caleb Fardell is very good under pressure.
The Year 10 student showed his mettle when he took out the recent Bathurst Diocesan Spelling Bee for Stage 5 students.
Caleb also holds the distinction of being the only student in the Diocese who has competed at this level every year since the inception of the Diocesan Spelling Bee. He was champion in primary school, representing St Joseph's, Portland.
Caleb attributes his success to hard work and practice and. very importantly, to his mother and father, Dianne and Darrin Fardell of Portland, who have encouraged him.
This is the final year Caleb will be eligible to take part in the competition.
