A winter appeal has been launched to help sustain the SecondBite program, to help play for ongoing operating expenses such as fuel, transport and refrigeration. A fundraising campaign will run in Lithgow over the next four weeks. For every $2 donation card sold at Coles, SecondBite can provide the equivalent of ten nutritious meals.
"Too many people in our community cannot afford nutritious food for themselves and their families. Our store in Lithgow has donated the equivalent of 45,000 meals to local charities like LINC since partnering with SecondBite in 2017, and over the past twelve months, we're proud to have supported more than 325 community groups in NSW," Coles State General Manager Emma Bridges said.

"By raising funds for SecondBite through our Winter Appeal, Coles customers can help SecondBite reach even more people experiencing hardship in local communities across the state."
Coles and SecondBite have reached a special milestone in their partnership, with the equivalent of 80 million meals donated to Australians facing homelessness and hardship since 2011, including around 13 million meals donated by 220 Coles stores in New South Wales.
