The Lithgow Workmen's Valley Women's Bowling Club raised a total of $1450 for Walk 'n' Talk for Life Lithgow, through a fundraising bowls day and lunch at the Lithgow Workies on Thursday, June 6.

After a morning of social bowling on the green, participants enjoyed a lunch and dessert in the Tuscan room followed by a number of raffle prize winners and a presentation of the cheque.
Walk 'n' Talk for Life Lithgow coordinator Leanne Walding said the funds raised would go toward a number of suicide awareness initiatives including suicide prevention workshops and mental health literacy.
"These funds will allow us to continue to get people to talk and open up.
"Thank you so much for this wonderful event, it's such a pleasure to see so much support and see all the yellow," she said.
Lithgow Workmen's Valley Women's Bowling Club president Lesley Townsend said Walk 'n' Talk was a very important part of Lithgow and she was pleased that the bowling club could contribute to it.

"Thanks to everyone who got behind this wonderful initiative and allowed us to hand over a substantial cheque," she said.
The men's club also donated $300 in which the ladies matched.
Ms Townsend also thanked those who travelled from other clubs and showed their support on the day including Lithgow City, Lawson, Oberon and Bathurst.
The next Walk 'n' Talk event will be held on Saturday, June 15 with a 9.30am start at the Blast Furnace Park with a free sausage sizzle.
