On Saturday, June 8 the reserve grade took on the Mudgee side, their biggest competition in the reserve grade and won, 36-14.
What looked like a tight competition during the first half, it was a close 14-10 but the Lithgow side quickly ran away with the win in the second half.
With seven tries and only four successful conversions, captain coach Jimmy Reinhardt said the Lithgow side certainly didn't play their best football on the weekend.
"It went good, we played in patches, we didn't play a solid game but we played good enough to get a win," he said.
Reinhardt said his side kept turning up even when Mudgee put them under the pump.
"We were able to keep turning them away, they did score a few points against us but they had a lot more ball in some stages and they weren't able to get through our line," he said.
"Just being able to keep turning up and defending our line was a real good effort from everyone."

Reinhardt was impressed with the performance of his sides forwards who laid the platform for the rest of the team.
" A couple of the older fellas who were having a run with us, Brendan Van Veen and Steve Muldoon they played pretty good but yeah I would say mainly the forwards who laid the platform, they did a great job," he said.
Now the Workies lead the competition on 18 points, followed by Bathurst St Pats on 13 points, and the Lithgow side wants to keep the momentum going.
"If we can keep this roll on that we've got and keep going through...that's the first round undefeated so if we can keep that trend going that would be real good," he said.
"We've played everyone once now and been able to defend them all off so if we can roll into the next round and keep winning games thats the main thing."
Reinhardt said it was important for the boys to continue to 'hold that top spot.'
"It's just a credit to all the boys, everyone keeps turning up and playing for one another," he said.
