Labor MPs Chris Minns and Jodi McKay both engaged with Labor party members throughout the Calare electorate on Saturday.
In meeting with Mr Minns at the Grand Central Hotel on Saturday afternoon, Labor branch member and Lithgow City Councillor Cassandra Coleman said topics of conversation between the members and the visiting member included climate change, better services for country NSW, jobs and industry policies, party reform and youth unemployment, with a particular focus on creating more apprenticeships.
Mr Minns was accompanied by Courtney Houssos MLC.
Jodi McKay took to her Facebook page following her visit on Saturday and said she was told the Central West communities she visited were "crying out for stable jobs".
She promised to create a new portfolio of Shadow Minister for Rural and Regional Jobs under her leadership. She stated her focus would also be on using NSW Government purchasing power to use NSW-based labour and suppliers, as well as creating more apprenticeships.
