Marijke auditioned to be an artist in Newcastle during November 2018.
She was successful and moved through to the third round of auditions, a workshop, which was held on February 19.
A few days later Marijke received an email congratulating her on being successful in her audition.
"Yes I am very excited to go, so excited that I want the week to only last a few seconds so that I can go to rehearsals on the weekend," Marijke said.
Over 500 students auditioned to be a featured artist with approximately 70 picked for the show.

Marijke will be a feature artist for years five to eight, and will be singing with four others.
The song she will be performing is 'Can you imagine that' from Mary Poppins Returns.
Marijke said she was "100 per cent most excited" about performing in the show.
"I can't wait to perform in my very colourful costume," she said.
Marijke has been attending many weekend rehearsals that include voice and dance choreography.
"Singing makes me happy and it helps me block out the world when I want time to myself," she said.
Marijke is the first student at Wallerawang Public School chosen to be a featured artist for a performance of this size.
