La Salle year 12 student and Bathurst Panthers player Hayden Taylor is set to compete at the NSWCCC touch football competition in July after displaying fine finesse at the diocesan trials at Nelson Bay in April.
The young talent was a part of six games in which his team one two, drew one and lost three against Sydney teams.
Taylor also plays as a rugby league player for the Bathurst Panthers and said touch was another opportunity to play a different version of his favourite sport.
"I love footy, I play touch in Lithgow and Portland as well as league, I love just how quick it is and fun," he said.
He said in terms of preparation he would just be doing his usual footy training outside of school.
"When the time comes I'll get out there and play what's in front of me," he said.
He also thanked La Salle for the opportunity to play touch football at a high school level and his parents for travelling with him.
