Newcomer to competition golf Riley Allan did not waste any time to get amongst the trophies when he paired up with Dave Thompson to take out the Lithgow Golf Club's two ball worst ball event with a score of 34 points.

This is a pressure event where both golfers have to play well. Scoring is tough as can be seen by the fact that the Ball competition cut out on 27 points.
To make things worse the event was played on a miserable cold and windy day,
Conditions were really tough, but Allan revelled in the bitter temperatures to amass a huge score of 51 points. He has been spending a lot of time at the club working on his game over the past months and his keenness certainly paid off on Saturday.

Runners up in the two ball were Blake Bender and Olwyn King on 31 points.
Best scratch scores (in A, B and C grade sequence) were Bill Oldfield 71, Graeme Dean 82 and Riley Allan 93.
Nearest the pins went to Dave Hicks, Blake Bender, Dave Titcum, Jeff Geddes and Justin Nelson.
On another tough day, the Friday nine hole competition was won by Jason Dunn with 27 points.
Ball winners were Rob George, Mark Seckold and Jeff Geddes who also won the nearest the pin.
Coming up:
This Saturday's event (May 18) will be a single stableford followed by a two person ambrose on Sunday.
The monthly medals will be held on Saturday, May 25.
The NSW two ball best ball format has been changed with the event now being an ambrose.
The qualifying round for this state event will be held at Lithgow on Monday, June 10 which is a public holiday.
Winners will proceed to the Blue Mountains qualifying round and if successful there will go on to the state final to be played at Bonville Golf Club.
