Lithgow's Angus Clues has claimed a world record in the Under 13's boys discus at the Australian Little Athletics Championships in Hobart on April 27 and 28.

With flakes of snow falling throughout the competition, the Year 7 Hills Sports High School student threw 60.84m to claim gold and a new record.
Proud mum Sally-Anne said what no one realised was that Angus had already claimed the world mark with his previous throw of 60.74m at the recent Dubbo competition.
"We figured that all of his training at the Jim Monaghan Athletics track in Lithgow prepared him well for the cold conditions," she said.
Little Athletics NSW stated "no U13 athlete in history has thrown further - it is essentially a world record for his age group".
The organisation stated the previous Australian record was set by Victorian thrower Stevie Partsanis in 1992 with a throw of 56.08m.
Angus was not done, bringing home gold in the javelin event with a throw of 41.09 metres and a silver in the shot put with a throw of 14.26m.
He came seventh in the long jump with a personal best of 5.48m.
Angus also represented his state in the 4 x 100m relay team, which took home gold, running in the third position.
It was a tough gig, as he had to compete in the race "only moments after throwing the discus".
The NSW Under 13 squad was also awarded the Trevor Billingham Trophy after receiving 1698 points, finishing 214 points ahead of the second-placed Queensland team.
Angus is a passionate football player, athlete and swimmer. A school leader at Lithgow Public School last year, he has relocated to complete the Hills Sports High School's Talented Sports Program, specialising in rugby league.
Angus and his family thanked his coach, Rick Berrell from Springwood, for all of his support.
