President Renzo Benedet, custodian Donna White and secretary Kerry Guerin will be meeting with Mr Elliot to discuss the regulation that states that all pistols, self-loading longarms, sub-machine guns or machine guns are to be rendered permanently inoperable.
The group has been fighting to get the regulation changed as it would affect more than 70 per cent of the entire collection.
The Lithgow Small Arms Museum is currently running a petition against the change, which has garnered 5593 signatures thus far.
