The new area has been imagined as a place for kids and their families to take a break from the battles and the general all-round craziness that is so much a part of the annual festival.
The circus tent set up will include face-painting, a petting zoo, visits from the Furries and food, all away from the majority of the noise.
"It's going to be a nice little respite area," Vicki said.
Vicki, who has been part of Ironfest for six years now, said this year's Ironfest theme, Once upon a time, had been very well received.
"The theme is so diverse, it really opens up options for people - whatever they think Ironfest is, that's it," she said.
She said the Cosplayers have been getting their costumes ready for months and she braced patrons to get ready for truly magnificent designs.
On Sunday, April 28, the second day of the Ironfest event, Vicki will be found as part of the classic bike-riding suffragettes movement, which was a prize-winning feature of the Sydney Classic Bicycle Show.
- Ironfest will be celebrating its 20th anniversary at the 2019 event, which will be held on April 27-28.
