A drink driver who crashed into the wooden porch of a Methven Street home on Christmas Day, 2018, causing more than $26,000 in damage, has been ordered to carry out community service.
Luke Watt, 31, has also been disqualified from driving for six months and ordered to serve out an 18 month Community Corrections Order.
The court heard Watt was driving on Cupro Street at about 9.25pm on December 25 when he failed to stop at the giveway sign, driving through the intersection, onto a front yard and into a wooden porch, damaging the kerb, the home's front stairs and the verandah area.
He also hit a Mazda parked outside the home. It was written off.
